About Project
Decarcerating New Jersey: A Transformative Vision of Justice is a digital magazine that has led policy changes in the reimagination of New Jersey's criminal justice system. The 2023 report focuses on state data from 2017-2022, a period where New Jersey led the nation in reducing its prison population. The primary design objective was to infuse the publication with elements and illustrations to foster inclusivity and approachability.
Central to our design ethos were illustrations depicting vibrant scenes of human interaction, portraying individuals engaging in everyday activities and envisioning their futures. These playful yet poignant depictions serve not only to captivate the audience but also to inspire and uplift. We meticulously crafted a color palette that harmonizes with the ACLU branding, incorporating secondary colors to complement the original scheme.
Our illustrations are highly versatile, seamlessly transitioning from publication spreads to web pages, social media posts, and banners. This adaptability ensures a cohesive visual narrative across various platforms, reinforcing the magazine's overarching message of empathy and advocacy.
